7 cup burfi or seven cup barfi recipe explained with step by step pictures and a quick video. Seven cup burfi is prepared using gram flour, sugar, milk, ghee and coconut. 7 cup is a very tasty sweet recipe. Learn how to make tasty seven cup burfi.

This is my favorite sweet recipe. I have been preparing this from many years. It comes out pretty well. I have got lot of appreciation for this from my family and my friends. In this burfi or sweet recipe seven cups of ingredients are used. The actual measurement goes like this. 1 cup gram flour, 3 cup sugar, 1 cup milk, 1 cup fresh grated coconut and 1 cup ghee. So all put together 7 cups. But I generally use 2 - 2.5 cups of sugar.

7 cup or seven cup burfi recipe

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 20 no

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 120ml)

  1. 1 cup gram flour or kadlehittu or besan
  2. 1 cup milk
  3. 2.5 cup sugar (3 cup as per original recipe)
  4. 1 cup ghee
  5. 1 cup grated coconut

Instructions for making 7 cup or seven cup burfi:

  1. To begin with grease a tray or steel plate with ghee and keep it ready.greased plate for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  2. Dry grind the grated coconut using a mixer grinder. Dry grinding means grind it without adding any water.grind coconut for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  3. Heat a wide frying pan and add in gram flour or besan. Start roasting the gram flour under medium flame. Roasting for 3 - 4 minutes is sufficient.gram flour for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  4. While roasting the gram flour add in sugar. Keep stirring. I have added 2 cups of sugar.sugar for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  5. Next add in ground coconut. Keep stirring.coconut for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  6. Followed by add in a cup of milk. Continue stirring under medium flame.milk for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  7. Finally add in a cup of ghee and continue stirring.ghee for 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  8. After few minutes of stirring it will start boiling. Keep stirring under medium flame.making 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  9. After sometime you can see the mixture will start becoming thick. Start scraping the edges and keep stirring continuously.making 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  10. Finally at one point the mixture will start leaving the edges. Also it will turn slightly whitish.the final stage of 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  11. Immediately transfer it into the greased plate. Tap the tray or plate to spread the mixture.mixture on greased palte in 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  12. Immediately grease a pizza cutter or a knife with ghee and cut the seven cup mixture into pieces.cutting the 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
  13. Wait until cool and takeout the pieces carefully. Enjoy melt in mouth and super tasty seven cup burfi.tasty 7 cup burfi or seven cup sweet
