Masala tea or masala chai recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. Today I am here with a quick recipe, which is perfect for your weekend. I prepare this tasty Masala tea or Masala chai on weekends and I really enjoy it. This Masala tea or spiced tea prepared using dry ginger, pepper, clove, cardamom and cinnamon. You can vary the milk and water ratio as per your taste.

This masala tea is beneficial when you are suffering from common cold or any digestive issues. You can find one more ayurvedic drink powder or kashaya powder recipe on this website. Do check that as well.

Masala tea or spiced tea recipe

Preparation time: 5 min
Cooking time: 10 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 150ml)

  1. 1.5 cups milk
  2. 0.5 - 1 cup water
  3. 4 cloves
  4. 1-2 black pepper
  5. A small chunk of dried ginger
  6. One cardamom
  7. Small piece cinnamon
  8. 2 tsp tea powder
  9. 2 tsp sugar

Instruction for making masala tea or spiced tea:

  1. Take all the masala ingredients like cloves, pepper, cardamom, cinnamon and ginger.spices for masala tea
  2. Crush them coarsely using a mortar and pestle.crushing spices for masala tea
  3. Have a look at the image. Do not crush them into fine.crushed spices for masala tea
  4. Take crushed masala and water in a vessel. Boil it for a minute.water for masala tea
  5. Add in the tea powder and continue boiling for few more seconds.tea powder for masala tea
  6. Add in milk. You can vary the amount of milk and water as per your choice.milk for masala tea
  7. Next add in sugar as per your taste.sugar for masala tea
  8. Bring it to rolling boil and switch off the stove.boiling masala tea
