Palak soup is one of the easiest and simple recipe using palak leaves. And it is an easy way to consume leaves. This palak soup is very tasty. Adding milk gives a creamy taste to the soup.

Easy palak soup recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 20 min
Serves: 2

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 250ml)

  1. 1/2 bunch palak leaves
  2. 2 cloves of garlic
  3. 1 onion
  4. 1 big tomato
  5. 2 tsp butter
  6. 1/4 tsp black pepper (or as per your taste)
  7. 1/4 tsp salt (or as per your taste)
  8. 1 cup of water
  9. 1/2 cup milk

Instructions for making Palak soup:

  1. Wash and cut the palak leaves. Also Chop garlic, onion and tomato. Now lets start making palak soup. To beginwith take 2 tsp of butter in a frying pan and heat it.butter for palak soup
  2. Add in chopped garlic and fry for few seconds. Do not burn them.garlic for palak soup
  3. Add in chopped onion and fry until they are translucent. Again do not burn them. Fry under medium flame. onion for palak soup
  4. Once the onions are soft or translucent, add in chopped tomato and continue frying until tomato turns mushy.tomato for palak soup
  5. Now add in chopped palak leaves and fry for 2 minutes or until the raw smell of the leaves is gone.palak leaves for palak soup
  6. Add in salt and pepper. Mix well and switch off the stove. Wait until the fried ingredients are cool.salt and pepper for palak soup
  7. Once the fried ingredients are cool, blend it or grind it into a fine paste using blender or mixer grinder. grinding the fried ingredients for palak soup
  8. Transfer the ground paste into a vessel, add in 1 cup of water and bring it to boil. You can vary the amount of water depending on the thickness required.boiling palak soup
  9. Now add in 1/2 cup of milk and bring it to boil again.milk for palak soup
  10. When it just starts boiling Switch off the stove. Do not boil it for more time after adding the milk. Serve hot and enjoy.boiling and serving palak soup
