Tasty protein rich breakfast recipe explained step by step pictures and a video. This is a very tasty and healthy dal dosa or bele dose recipe. This dosa can be prepared as a breakfast or as an evening snacks. Tastes good and is a protein rich recipe, so this is a perfect recipe for growing kids and for those who wants to get rid of extra weight.

I have used many dals, rice and few nuts in this recipe. However you are free to skip or add one or two ingredients. You can also vary the quantity slightly. This protein rich breakfast or bele dosa can be prepared right after grinding the batter. You can also ferment it for few ours. It tastes good either way but don't ferment it beyond 4 hours.

    Protein rich breakfast recipe

    Preparation time: 4 - 5 hrs
    Cooking time: 30 min
    Serves: 3

    Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

    1. 1/2 cup dosa rice
    2. 1/4 cup green gram or hesarukalu
    3. 2 tbsp toor dal
    4. 2 tbsp chana dal or gram dal
    5. 2 tbsp urad dal
    6. 2 tbsp masoor dal
    7. 1 tbsp peanuts or shenga
    8. 1 tbsp badam or almonds
    9. 2cm length ginger
    10. 3 - 5 red chillies
    11. 1 tsp jeera or cumin seeds
    12. Salt as per your taste

    Instructions for making protein rich breakfast:

    1. Take rice, dal and nuts as per measurement.ingredients for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    2. Rinse everything well.rinsing rice and dals for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    3. Soak for a minimum duration of 4 - 5 hours.Soaking rice and lentils for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    4. Drain the water and grind the soaked ingredients until smooth using required water. I had to grind it in 2 batches and not added spices now.grind rice and lentils for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    5. Pour the batter into a container.batter for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    6. While grinding the second batch, add in ginger, red chili and cumin seeds. Grind again until smooth.spices for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    7. Pour it into the same container.batter for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    8. Add in salt as per taste and asafoetida. Give a good mix. Optionally you can ferment the batter for few hours. This dosa tastes good either way.salt and asafoetida for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    9. The batter shall have regular dosa batter consistency.batter for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    10. Heat the pan, pour the batter and make thin dosa.making dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    11. Close the lid and cook.cooking dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    12. Drizzle oil or ghee on top.oil or ghee for dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    13. Fold and take out the dosa once once done.dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    14. And if you ferment it for few hours then the dosa texture will be different like how I have shown in the picture.fermented dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
    15. It turns crispy either way. But do not ferment the batter for more than 4 hours. It may turn sour.dal dosa or protein rich breakfast
