Shenga dose or peanut dosa recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This is a fermented kadalekai dosa or kadalebeeja dose and is prepared using peanut, rice, and poha. Using this recipe or using this batter we can prepare super soft spongy dosas. This peanut dosa or shenga dose can be served with coconut chutney or sambar.

Peanut dosa recipe

Preparation time: 12 hours
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 3

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup rice
  2. 1/2 cup peanuts or shenga
  3. 1/2 cup thick beaten rice or gatii avalakki
  4. Salt as per your taste

Instructions for making peanut dosa:

  1. Take rice, peanuts (kadalekai) and thick beaten rice (gatti avalakki) in a container and rinse them well.rice, peanut and poha for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  2. Soak them all for 4 - 5 hours.soaking rice, peanut and poha for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  3. After soaking, drain the water and transfer the ingredients into a mixie jar. Grind it into a smooth batter by adding required water.soaked ingredients for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  4. Transfer the batter into a container.batter for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  5. Mix the batter well using the hands.batter for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  6. Close the lid and rest it for 7 - 8 hours in a warm place for fermentation.fermenting the batter for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  7. After fermentation, open the lid and add in required salt (around 1 tsp). Give a quick mix.salt for peanut dosa or shenga dose
  8. Now heat the dosa pan. Grease it with oil if it is cast iron pan. Pour the batter and spread it slightly.making peanut dosa or shenga dose
  9. Close the lid for 5 - 10 seconds and cook the dose.making peanut dosa or shenga dose
  10. Open the lid to see super soft spongy dosa. No need of extra oil for this dosa.making peanut dosa or shenga dose
  11. Flip and cook it on the other side as well.cooking peanut dosa or shenga dose
  12. Serve it with any chutney or sambar of your choice.peanut dosa or shenga dose
