Hoo kosu palya or gobi fry recipe prepared using Cauliflower, onion, tomato, spice powders and few other spices. This cauliflower recipe tastes good with rice or chapati or like a starter.

Hookosu or gobi fry recipe

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 15 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 hookosu or cauliflower or gobi
  2. 1 large onion
  3. 2 tomatoes
  4. Few curry leaves
  5. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Big pinch of hing or asafoetida
  9. 1 tsp red chili powder
  10. 1 tsp coriander powder
  11. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  12. 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  13. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  14. Salt as per your taste
  15. 1 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions for making hookosu palya or gobi fry:

  1. Take the cauliflower florets in a container. Add 1/2 tsp of salt.cauliflower for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe

  4. In a pan heat a tbsp of oil. Add mustard and cumin seeds.tempering for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe
  5. Wait until mustard seeds splutter. Add in chopped onion and curry leaves. Fry until onions turn soft.onion and curry leaves for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe
  6. Add in turmeric and asfoetida.asafoetida, turmeric and red chili for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe
  7. Also add in chopped tomatoes. Fry the tomatoes until soft.tomatoes for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe
  8. Add the spice powders like chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala and cumin powder. Fry them for a minute.potatoes for hookosu palya or gobi fry recipe
