Red chutney recipe for masala dosa

Preparation time: 35 min
Cooking time: 0 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 10 byadgi chillies (less spicy ones)
  2. 1 bulb garlic
  3. 2 tsp coriander seeds
  4. 2 tsp cumin seeds
  5. Few curry leaves
  6. 1 tsp salt or as per your taste

Instructions for making red chutney for masala dosa:

  1. Take all the ingredients as per the measurement. You can replace garlic with onion or 1/4 tsp asafoetida.ingredients for red chutney for masala dosa
  2. Soak red chillies in hot water for 30 minutes. Please note, soaking red chillies is optional. It makes the grinding process easy.soaking red chillies for red chutney for masala dosa
  3. Take soaked chillies in a mixie jar. Add in peeled garlic. You can replace garlic with onion or asafoetida (hing).red chillies and garlic for red chutney for masala dosa
  4. Add in coriander and cumin seeds.coriander and cumin seeds for red chutney for masala dosa
  5. Also add in curry leaves and salt.tempering for red chutney for masala dosa
  6. Add in required water little by little. You can use the chilli soaked water.water for red chutney for masala dosa
  7. Grind it into a smooth paste. Use it like a spread for masala dosa.ground red chutney for masala dosa
