Godhi dose or whole wheat dosa recipe explained with step by step pictures and quick video. This whole wheat dosa is a tasty dosa prepared using soaked whole wheat and spices. Try this healthy and tasty godhi dose or whole wheat dosa for breakfast.

Godhi dose or wheat dosa prepared using wheat powder will be soft. Also you can not make them thin and crisp. But these wheat dosas are prepared by grinding soaked whole wheat and thus they will be thin and crispy. Since we are adding red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and coconut while grinding.., these whole wheat dosas will be very tasty and healthy as well.

Godhi dose recipe

Preparation time: 6 hours
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 2 cup whole wheat
  2. 1/2 cup grated coconut
  3. 2 tsp coriander seeds
  4. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds or jeera
  5. 3 - 4 red chilli
  6. 1 tbsp finely chopped curry leaves
  7. Salt as per your taste

Instructions for making godhi dose:

  1. Rinse and soak whole wheat for 5 hours or over night.rinse and soak wheat for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  2. After soaking drain the water. In the first batch grind half of the soaked wheat using a blender or mixer grinder. Please note that you can not grind the whole wheat into very fine batter. So grind until you get fine batter, which is little coarse.grind wheat for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  3. Pour the batter into a container.batter for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  4. In the second batch grind leftover soaked wheat, coconut, red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and salt. Again grind until you get fine batter, which is little coarse.grind wheat and spices for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  5. Pour the batter into the same container. Do not add extra water.batter for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  6. Add in finely chopped curry leaves. Optionally you can add finely chopped green chillis if you wish to have a spicy dosa. Batter is ready for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa.curry leaves for godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  7. Now heat the pan, pour a laddle full of batter and spread it. Spread it well to get a thin and crispy dosa. You need not close the lid.making godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
  8. After few seconds, drizzle oil or ghee all over the dosa. Take out the dosas once they are cooked. Serve it with chutney and butter. You can have these dosas without any accompaniment also. Enjoy tasty and healthy dosas.cooking godhi dose or whole wheat dosa
