Don't worry here is a recipe of chutney prepared using coriander leaves. This particular coriander leaves chutney is totally different from other chutney recipes. Even though it is a chutney you will have to use it like thokku or pickle and is prepared without coconut and without adding any water. Also tempering is not required for this chutney. Coriander leaves chutney is prepared using coriander leaves, green chili, tamarind and salt. This chutney can stay good for few weeks if stored properly. This is a very easy and tasty coriander leaves chutney or coriander leaves thokku recipe and is explained here with step by step pictures. Coriander leaves chutney

Preparation time: 15 min
Cooking time: 5 min
Serves: 10

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 120ml)

  1. 1 big bunch of coriander leaves
  2. 6-10 green chili
  3. 1 small lemon sized tamarind
  4. 2 tsp cooking oil
  5. Salt as per your taste.

Instructions for making coriander leaves chutney:

  1. Wash and pat dry coriander leaves and green chilis. Once they are dry chop them separately.wash and chop coriander leaves for coriander leaves chutney
  2. Fry the green chilis in a frying pan till they are soft, using 2 tsp of cooking oil. Take out the fried green chilis and keep them aside.fry green chilis for coriander leaves chutney
  3. Now to the same frying pan add chopped coriander leaves and fry them till they are soft under low flame.fry coriander leaves for coriander leaves chutney
  4. Wait till the fried leaves become cool. Then grind the leaves, green chilis, tamarind and salt in a mixer grinder without adding water. Serve this like a thokku or pickle along with rice, roti or paratha.grinding chili and leaves for coriander leaves chutney
