Mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe explained with step by step pictures and video. Mosaru dose is prepared using rice, curd and fenugreek seeds (methi seeds). This is no-urad dal dose and is a good way to clear off leftover curd or butter milk. 2 ways to prepare mosaru dose or curd dosa is shown here. Mosaru dose can be served with coconut chutney or any other chutney of your choice.

I have added little sugar in this recipe. Which enhances the taste of dosa and give nice golden colour to the dosa. However it is completely optional and you can skip it.

Mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe

Preparation time: 14 hours
Cooking time: 30 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 1 cup dosa rice
  2. 1 cup buttermilk or curd
  3. 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
  4. Ghee or oil for cooking
  5. Salt as per your taste
  6. 1/2 tsp sugar (optional)
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  8. 1 tbsp finely chopped curry leaves

Instructions for making mosaru dose:

  1. Take rice and fenugreek seeds in a container.rice and methi seeds for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  2. Rinse it well.rinsed rice and methi seeds for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  3. Add in 1 cup curd and give a quick mix. Close the lid and soak it for 7 - 8 hours.soaking rice for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  4. After soaking transfer the soaked ingredients into a mixie jar.soaked rice and dal for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  5. Grind until semifine batter. Make sure the batter is not turning hot while grinding.batter for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  6. Transfer it into a container. Use minimum required water. Close the lid allow it to ferment for 7 - 8 hours.fermenting batter for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  7. After fermentation, open the lid and add the required salt and little sugar. Give a quick mix.salt for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  8. The batter shall have regular dosa batter consistency. Add in required water and give a quick mix.batter for mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  9. Now heat the dosa pan. Pour a laddle full of batter and spread it in a circular way to prepare thin dosa.making mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  10. Close the lid for 5 - 10 seconds. Allow it to cook under medium flame.cooking mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  11. Open the lid, drizzle some ghee or oil.cooked mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe

  13. If you wish to have soft dosas, add in 1/2 tsp cumin seeds and some finely chopped curry leaves to the batter.cumin seeds and curry leaves mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  14. Add in required water and make the batter thin. Batter should be thinner than regular dosa batter an d much thicker than rava dosa batter.cooked mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
  15. Now heat the dosa pan. Pour a laddle full of batter and spread it in a circular way. Close the lid for 5 - 10 seconds. Allow it to cook under medium flame.making mosaru dose or curd dosa recipe
