ellu bella or yellu bella recipe

Ellu bella or Karnataka style sesame seeds jaggery trail mix recipe explained with step by step pictures. Ellu bella or yellu bella is very popular sweet trail mix and is prepared during Makara sankranthi festival. Ellu bella is another guilt free snacks recipe prepared using ground nut, roasted gram, dessicated coconut, sesame seeds and jaggery.

I have a lot of sweet memories with sankranthi festival and ellu bella. My Mother used to prepare this tasty trail mix and me and my sister used to distribute it to all the neighbouring houses. In turn many of our friends and relaives used to come to our house with their packets of ellu bella. Then at the end of the day...it is like tasting or sampling one by one from different houses. Eat...eat and eat..we used to eat it a lot. Then when I started working I used to prepare and take ellu bella to office. We all used to enjoy..oh very nostalgic.

Ellu bella is a very healthy and nutritious snacks designed for the winter. I have posted ellu juice (sesame seeds milkshake), which another tasty recipe prepared suing sesame seeds. During sankranthi festival ellu bella is prepared and distributed among friends and relatives. There is a proverb in Kannada "Ellu bella thindu olle mathadi", which means "eat ellu bella and speak good". I prepare ellu bella and pongal (huggi anna) for Sankranthi festival. You can find more sankranti recipes here.

I have already shared some guilt free snacks recipes like congress kadlekai, Avarekalu mixture, carrot-mung dal salad, Mangalore churumuri, girmit, kadle usli, hurigaalu (spicy trail mix) and nuchinunde recipes.
