Vanilla mug cake recipe explained with step by step pictures and a video. This is a eggless vanilla mug cake prepared using microwave. This mug cake is prepared using maida, baking powder, milk, butter, sugar and vanilla essence. This is a tasty and quick mug cake recipe prepared in just 1 minute.
I rarely post cake recipes. You can find only one steamed cake recipe on this website. I generally use my oven to warm the food, warm the water, fry papad and prepare benne biscuit. But since I was getting too many requests to post the cake recipes, finally I thought of trying my hands with baking. So this is my first cake recipe on this website using oven. Many cake recipes will follow soon..

Serves: 1
Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)
- 4 tbsp maida or all purpose flour
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp milk (or oil)
- 10 drops or 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (can be replaced with any extract or essence)
Instructions for making vanilla mug cake recipe:
- Take 4 tbsp maida in a bowl. You can take it in the mug as well.
- Add in 3 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tsp baking powder. Give a quick mix.
- Give a quick mix.
- Add in 1/4 tsp or 10 drops of vanilla extract.
- Add in 3 tbsp milk.
- Add in 2 tbsp of melted butter (or oil). You can add in 3 tbsp of butter, if you want more soft cake.
- Now mix it very well using a whisk or a fork and prepare a lump free cake batter. As I said earlier you can directly mix it in the mug.
- Grease a mug (optional) and transfer the batter into the mug.
- Microwave high for 1 minute (time may vary from one oven to another) using a microwave oven. The tooth pick or fork should come out clean to ensure proper cooking.
- Decorate as per your wish. Wait until the cake is warm and serve it immediately.
- If you want to serve it later, take it out from the mug. Using a brush apply the sugar syrup all over the cake. Or else the cake may turn slightly hard when it is cool. Just mix in 1 tsp sugar with 2 tsp of water to prepare sugar syrup.
