    Hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu recipe

    Preparation time: 5 hours
    Cooking time: 15 min
    Serves: 4

    Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

    1. 1 cup hesaru kalu or green gram
    2. 1/4 cup rice
    3. 1/2 tsp fenugreek or methi seeds
    4. 2cm length ginger
    5. 2 - 4 green chilies
    6. 1 tsp cumin seeds
    7. Small bunch oriander leaves finely chopped
    8. 1 big onion finely chopped
    9. Around 1.5 cup water
    10. Salt as per your taste

    Instructions for making hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu:

    1. Rinse and soak 1 cup of green gram, 1/4 cup rice and 1/2 tsp methi seeds for 4 - 5 hours.Soak green gram and rice for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    2. After soaking drain the water and transfer the soaked ingredients into a mixie jar. Add in ginger, green chilies and cumin seeds.soaked ingredients in mixer grinder for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    3. Grind it into a fine batter by adding required water. I have used around 1.5 cup of water. Transfer it into a container.ground batter for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    4. Add in salt and give a quick mix. The batter shall have regular dosa batter consistency.salt for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    5. Heat the pan, pour the batter and make dosas.making hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    6. Top it with finely chopped onion and coriander leaves. You can add them while grinding too.onion and coriander leaves for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    7. Close the lid and cook until done.making hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
    8. Open the lid. Drizzle oil or ghee from top.oil or ghee for hesaru kalu dose or pesarattu dosa
