Baale dindina palya or banana stem moong dal sabzi goes very well with rice or chapati. It is very healthy too.

Baale dindu or banana stem has numerous health benefits. Banana stem is good for weight loss, to manage diabetes, detoxification, reduce constipation, kidney health, blood pressure, anaemia and to reduce the bad cholesterol. This is my recipe using banana stem on this website. I will sharing few more recipes soon.

Bale dindu hesaru bele palya

Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 20 min
Serves: 4

Ingredients: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  1. 20cm length bale dindu or banana stem
  2. 1/4 cup moong dal or hesarubele
  3. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  4. 1 tsp urad dal
  5. 1 tsp chana dal
  6. 1 red chili
  7. 1 - 2 green chillies
  8. 7 - 8 curry leaves
  9. A big pinch of turmeric powder
  10. A big pinch of asafoetida
  11. 1/4 cup grated coconut
  12. 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  13. Salt as per your taste
  14. 2 tbsp cooking oil

Instructions for making bale dindina palya or banana stem stir fry recipe:

  1. Soak moong dal (hesaru bele) for 15 minutes.moong dal for bale dindina palya or banana stem stir fry recipe

  5. Take water in a container. Add the lemon juice.water and lemon juice for bale dindina palya or banana stem stir fry recipe

  7. Next heat oil in a frying pan. Add in mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and broken red chilli.tempering for bale dindina palya or banana stem stir fry recipe
